Sea Creatures On Land!

On the last day of Term 1 we all spent the morning doing a range of activities that link in to our learning about sea creatures.

We did some art to show a school of fish, more art with shaving cream to make seahorses, some science experiments to simulate an oil spill and sea currents, drew a scale chalk drawing of a blue whale and made an "X-Ray" of a fish.

We all had a lot of fun and learnt all sorts of new things about the creatures we can find in the moana we live by.

  1. Kia ora Te Maunga, my name is Angela from Te Ngahere. I like your blog post because it was very interesting and it seemed like a lot of fun. I thought that it was a smart and creative way to use shaving cream to make sea horses and by doing some science experiments to simulate an oil spill and sea currents. I also really liked your drawing of a big blue whale because it took up most of the court which is really big. What was your favourite experiment you all did?

I really liked your blog post about your experiments that you did about the moana because they looked really interesting especially the x-ray of the fish. I remember when I had to make an animation about saving sea animals. Maybe next time you could write a bit more about what you were doing. What was your favourite activity?

It reminds me of when I made drawings of sea creatures and did other things about sea creatures.
What experiment was your favorite one to do and why?

  13. Hola Te Maunga it is Savitri from Te Ngahere class. I liked your post about the sea creatures, and how you drew them it was really amazing when you used different blue shades to blend it in by the rolling pins. The best part was how you showed a big fish drawing through the video, you all most covered the whole court.

Do you know the biggest whale in world???

  14. Hello Te Maunga its Me Manaaki from Te Ngahere. I like your blog post because I like the sea creatures that you made and the different shades that you used and on the last day of term 1 that would be very had to do. Because one day to make that it’s going to be very very hard and that you made shaving cream into a seahorse that is very creative. It is really amazing that you mixed shades to make the blue shade
